Our School Leaders

At Heathcote Valley School, we believe that children should play a significant role in helping run their school. It not only empowers them, but also  teaches them about responsibility, organisational skills, about the importance of commitment and working on behalf of a school community.
Across the school, we have between 90 – 100 of our children holding positions of responsibility. Every year 8 child is given a position of leadership!
The main leadership positions are listed below:

Head Boy and Girl

Their role is to:
Welcome people officially to the school at school events.
Provide leadership to the Student Leader Teams
Start and end our fortnightly TALL Learner assemblies.
MC the senior final prize-giving.
Represent the school at the Heathcote Valley Anzac Day parade.

Office / Phone Monitors
Provide support to the office during morning tea and lunch times

Enviro Group

Promote sustainability practices in the school
Coordinate the collection of the school’s recycling
Assist in the maintenance of the school garden 

Peer Mediators
Provide support to help children solve conflicts in the playground
